Why I Teach in a Catholic School:
I knew when I finished at Trinity Lutheran College that I was destined to teach children through
the Catholic philosophy. I actually saw it no other way - the Christian way of life upon which true
education lies. I was raised with these ideals from St. Linus in Oak Lawn to Mother McAuley on
the Southside.

As this is my second career, I began teaching in the diocese in 1999 and have been at St. Joe's
since 2001. In the beginning, I remained a CCD teacher (1993-2001) but had dropped that after
a couple of years. Overall, it has been a joy to be here at St. Joe's. I do appreciate the guidance
given by the parents to their children, as they are the primary educators.
