The current Athletic Board has recognized that several may be "graduating" with their children in the next couple of years. We are looking for a few more parents to get involved in this "fun-filled" arm of our school as new Board members. Our Athletic program is more than just basketball and volleyball - they promote our school to the community through their words and actions and play and integral role in marketing and advertising for us. This great group of parents and children bond in a special way through all their volunteer work and all their "play." It is a wonderful way for new families to get involved, meet the other parents of the school and enjoy times together that build those memories that will be discussed in years to come - far beyond eighth grand graduation. If you would like to be involved with our Athletic program, please contact Kathy Alberico, our Athletic Director. Parents of children in any grade level are welcome to be part of this Board. The additional board members will begin their service on July 1, 2011 and these positions are two-year commitments. Please consider this your personal invitation to join a great group within the school! Thank you for your consideration. Market Day Pick-Up Date correction - April 23rd from 10:00-11:00 as noted on the back of the order forms. Recently, several of our alumni students were inducted into the National Honor Society at Providence. Congratulations to Emily Persicketti, Sean Fitzgerald, and Meghan Lake. We also received information from Joliet Catholic Academy that former St. Joseph student, Nicholas Nalepka is on their "A" Honor Roll. Congratulations to Nicholas on your great achievement too. If anyone knows of any other alumni (including family members) who have earned special honors at the high school or college levels, please advise the office. We love to hear how our former students are doing after graduation! The "matching fund" scholarships were awarded to families in need last week. These families have asked me to than those of you who donated so freely to help them in their time of need. Thank you also goes out to Father McGeean for assisting in this process. Please continue to pray for all our families who are struggling (hopefully temporarily) to afford the Catholic Education. Thank you for all our fundraising chairpersons too for helping to keep our tuition as low as possible so that others can afford their tuition Together, we are strong! With "Him" we can do anything...without "Him" we are nothing. Thank you for working through Jesus. Irish Fest Raffle Tickets - Congratulations to the 2nd grade for selling the most Irish Fest raffle tickets. The raffle ticket sales made a little over $2,000 for our school. Thank you to all our parents for your hard work in promoting this fundraiser. I would especially like to give five special thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Brandon Adair, Mr. & Mrs. David Yock and Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Yock for being the top sellers for the raffle tickets. Great job everyone!! God Bless, Eileen Ramsay |
